چکیده

The HPLC capacity factors(k’) measured on a C18 column, using methanol-water mobile phase of different compositions, were determined for 15 heterocyclic nitrogen compounds. The linear relationship between the log k’ values and the percentage of the methanol in the eluent was studied for each compound. The log kw' values of these compounds were obtained by extrapolating the retention data in binary solvent system to pure water eluent. Various MCI’s (molecular connectivity indices) were calculated and LSER(linear solvation energy relationship) parameters were observed for these compounds. Good correlations were established between MCI’s and log kw’, and between LSER parameters and log kw'. The present correlation can be used to predict log kw’ values for other derivatives.

COMPARISON OF FOUR METHODS OF PREDICTING NEWLY MEASURED OCTANOL/WATER COEFFICIENTS (LOG Kow) FOR HETEROCYCLIC NITROGEN COMPOUNDS AND THE PARTITION MECHANISM

Log Kow values for 14 heterocyclic nitrogen compounds (by traditional shake-flask method) were reported. Reverse phase–high-performance liquid chromatography (RP-HPLC) method and three estimation models—linear solvation energy relationship, molecular connectivity indices (MCIs), and quantum chemical descriptors—were used to study the partition mechanism and to establish the correlations of the ...

Prediction and QSAR analysis of toxicity to Photobacterium phosphoreum for a group of heterocyclic nitrogen compounds.

Heterocyclic nitrogen compounds are extensively used as intermediates in the manufacture of pesticides and herbicides, while their toxicity has been little reported (Chen et al, 1997). In this paper, we report the toxicity of 14 heterocyclic nitrogen compounds to Photobacterium phosphoreum measured by Microtox® test which has been proposed as a cost-effective prescreening procedure to eliminate...

A Study on Retention of a Series of Aromatic Compounds in Mixed Micellar Liquid Chromatography Using Linear Solvation Energy Relationship (LSER)

The effect of SDS (0.03-0.07 M) and Brij-35(0-0.003 M) concentrations and temperature on retention parameters of 30 solutes in micellar reversed- phase liquid chromatography systems were studied using solvation parameter model. The system constants were determined by multiple linear regression analysis from experimental values of the retention factors with known descriptors by computer usin...
